This was an 11-week, six-figure valued project in Kirkcaldy for CommScope, a large multi-national organisation. The refurbishment would consist of: a new office environment, laboratory, test room, staff kitchen, breakout area, comms rooms and meeting rooms across the ground and 2nd floors of the building.

We worked very closely with FORM design to deliver this project on time and to the client’s specification in a professional manner. Throughout the building we reused existing glazing and relocated it to new purpose-built partitions. After this, manifestations were installed and the results were fantastic, with each looking like they were brand new.

In order to create sound proof, acoustically secure meeting rooms, we made use of Komfort Polar Double Glazing. These not only look elegant, but they provide the privacy needed for confidential meetings as well as giving increased durability. To complete the look, we painted all the walls, doors, ceilings and the timber finishes. We also added a beautiful moss wall to the staff breakout area. This creates a comfortable, green environment for the staff.

We are pleased to say that the project was a success and was finished on time and to budget. The client was very happy with the new workplace environment created by Worksmart Contracts.

Fife Council – Mobile Storage

To create efficiencies, Fife Council were bringing various departments under one roof. An area at the Bankhead Complex was chosen and further plans were drawn up. Mesh Partitioning was installed to create multiple storage areas with keypad security for each department.

Mesh Partitioning was installed to create multiple storage areas with keypad security for each department. To be as environmentally friendly as possible, existing storage systems, such as existing mobile shelving, was relocated to the new areas.

New Mobile Shelving for File Store was provided to increase the storage capacity for all departments. A full filing audit was undertaken and a future expansion plan was taken into account.

Within the areas are PPE store, an election store and social work departments. This would normally require several remote premises, but our storage solutions allowed for greater interdepartmental co-operation.

Fife Council – Box Storage

Fife Council were consolidating their record management from various satellite locations. By having all the records management in one location, they saved time, improved security and were able to cut down travel costs.

We were required to construct secure box storage area to maximise storage capacity. After consultation with the records management team, plans were drawn up. A secure area was chosen within the Bankhead storage area.

Using the available height, we formed the area using high bay longspan shelving with timber decking and re-working existing pallet racking on site to give secure storage of over 20,000 boxes. To create the secure area, we used a mixture of mesh partitioning, anti-collapse mesh and electric roller shutter door.

A dedicated labelling system was supplied for easy box identification and easier record management retrieval for the client.

The council purchased a new forklift truck which the racking system was designed around.
