Hollis Global commissioned us to undertake a refurbishment of the 4th floor of Standard Life’s Edinburgh Causewayside office. Standard Life are world renowned property investors with offices all over the globe.
The job involved the full strip out of existing lighting and cabling throughout the open plan office space, including the elevator, lobby and bathrooms.
Once this was accomplished, Worksmart Contracts installed new lighting throughout the fourth floor, as well as new circuit wiring from the existing distribution boards.
The main point of focus for the refurbishment was the toilets. The client wanted a refreshed bathroom space which would include new flooring and sanitaryware. The bathroom refurbishment would include all new: panels, cubicles, vanity units, WC’s and urinals. The existing fixtures and fittings would also be replaced with new sensor taps, mirrors and wash hand basins.
Floor tiles from the Porcelanosa Blanco range were chosen to ensure a high-end finish within the bathroom.
Elsewhere Worksmart fitted new carpeting to the lobby area of the office, cleaned the existing ceiling tiles and carried out some general decoration works to enhance the overall look and feel of the office.
This refurbishment project in Edinburgh represented another success for Worksmart. Working alongside Hollis Global to complete this Edinburgh office refurbishment for Standard Life was a real pleasure and we hope to work with them again in future.
Working within an old existing building full of character and its own challenges Worksmart undertook an intensive five-week programme of works at Edinburgh University in which various classrooms within the School of Geosciences were refurbished. The project involved the Interior Refurbishment of the existing classrooms, including multiple trades with new joinery, ceilings, mechanical, electrical, data, decoration paintwork and more. Worksmart’s Site Manager worked very well in the project putting in extra hours to ensure completion on time before the students returned to their studies.
Great to be working with Edinburgh University in such projects and always interesting working in such proximity to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Worksmart Contracts delivered a first-class office interior for Merkle Periscopix, along with Thirdway Interiors, in Edinburgh`s outstanding Exchange.
This was a significant six-figure multi-trade, fast-track interior fit-out project and as such, came with high levels of specifications relating to the design. The partitioning element was also a major factor in delivering a
project that met the client’s needs.
Working within a large, active building in Edinburgh City Centre meant that this was a challenging project, but one in which Worksmart Contracts carried out with aplomb. The 12,000sq ft project on one floor was completed within 12 weeks.
Working hand in glove with our clients at Thirdway Interiors and c2:concepts, a seamless design solution was developed. As well as this, plans were implemented for the successful fast-track Interior Fit-Out for the overall client: Merkle Periscopix.
Works included significant open plan office spaces and the formation of 20 offices and meeting rooms. The works were completed two weeks early, on-budget with a very happy client and design team.
We would like to take this opportunity to confirm the level of support and co-operation we have received from your onsite staff during the refurb of our premises at Alcorn Rigg in Edinburgh. The project was approached in a very professional and friendly manner throughout the contract. We are very happy clients and would have no hesitation recommending your company.

The nursery underwent a complete refurbishment of the internal and external spaces. New flooring, specialist acoustic panels, new kitchen facilities, enhanced lighting, bespoke joinery and specialist loose furniture has transformed the internal space providing the children with an enhanced learning environment.
Externally we created a space for the children to play safely incorporating a wet pour safety surface and specialist storage units to use the space more efficiently. The nursery team are delighted with the space and we are sure the kids are too.
