Austin-Smith:Lord – Bothwell Street, Glasgow City Centre

The Client, Austin-Smith:Lord, was looking to move its operation from a previous office space on St Vincent Street to a more suitable location on Bothwell Street. Highly renowned architects themselves, we were well aware that the client would accept nothing less than a sharp office fit-out with a premium finish.

With the new office fit-out taking place on the 4th floor of a Glasgow City Centre building, it presented some difficulties. As usual though, Worksmart Contracts welcomed the challenge. Due to less people being present in the office due to the COVID-19 situation, it allowed us to work in a less disruptive manner. This was positive for both Worksmart and the client.

Worksmart’s team completed the new office fit-out to a very high spec. Included within the project was an adapted glass office area, which featured a TV wall for running training courses, seminars and other events. A new tea prep area was also installed, providing the staff at Austin-Smith:Lord with the vital facilities needed throughout the working day.

Elsewhere, new partitions were created to house important filing cabinets and furniture had to be transported from the old office. The client drew up their own drawings on the project, and it was a pleasure working with George Reynolds.

The feeling was mutual, as George praised Worksmart’s Project Manager Gary McCaul for his effort, communication and overall management of the job, adding that he is a fantastic ambassador for Worksmart Contracts.

Edinburgh University

Working within an old existing building full of character and its own challenges Worksmart undertook an intensive five-week programme of works at Edinburgh University in which various classrooms within the School of Geosciences were refurbished. The project involved the Interior Refurbishment of the existing classrooms, including multiple trades with new joinery, ceilings, mechanical, electrical, data, decoration paintwork and more. Worksmart’s Site Manager worked very well in the project putting in extra hours to ensure completion on time before the students returned to their studies.

Great to be working with Edinburgh University in such projects and always interesting working in such proximity to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Ellis Whittam – Office Fit-Out – Glasgow

Worksmart were one of four in the competitive tender for the office fit-out works. Secured the works and prepared for a quick contract start on site. With a lot of detailed off site bespoke and system manufacturing the works before the start on site was important to meet the Programme.

The Office Fit-Out works included for various services, Joinery, ceilings, partitioning, double glazed partitioning, glazed and timber doors, decoration, various floor coverings and graphics, manifestations and signage.

Followed by a first class Furniture package by Bureau+ Delighted to work with our Clients at Ellis Whittam and indeed the C2:concepts team.

Billy Bowie Special Projects – Office Fit-Out – Ayrshire

Billy Bowie Special Projects wanted to extend their Ayrshire Office Facilities and provide additional Office Space within a purpose designed single story highly efficient extension with refurbishment works to the existing office facility.

With excavations, concrete founds and insulated rafts, steelwork, blockwork, timber kit, render, sarnafill flat roof balcony with permanent decking and Glazed balcony, stainless steel handrails, Kingspan roofing, aluminium window and door systems and a full interior Fit Out and existing office Refurbishment all the way down to bespoke reception desking, cabinetry and much more… all within a very full 10 week office fit-out programme.

Scotland House – Office Fit-Out – Brussels

Following on the successful completion of Scotland House London, we were appointed by the Scottish Government to inject a similar modern workspace environment for both staff and Hub Members.

The office fit-out works consisted of a full skeleton strip-out and incorporating a new spacious layout with standard and glazed partitions to maximise the light exposure which creates a spacious combination of private offices, meeting rooms and an open-plan co-working space.

The works also consisted of full electrical upgrades, air-con upgrades, new flooring, new ceilings and installation of bespoke carpentry products.
