With Kilmarnock Football Club’s growing support, there was a need to increase the capacity of the sports bar within the main stand and give it a vibrant new look, in line with the recently refurbished 1869 Suite.
The redesigned bar would be called The Killie Club, an homage to the history of the Club and its past fans. This new facility would give the extra space required to cater to the increasing volume of fans before and after home matches. Due to the increased number of visitors, the toilet facilities also had to be extended, with new male, female and disabled toilets being created to accommodate supporters. Working over the course of 10 weeks during the close season, the Worksmart Teams were faced with the challenge of a set deadline which couldn’t be altered. As usual, the teams did themselves proud and finished everything in time for the beginning of the new 2019/2020 season.
This is the latest in a number of projects delivered for Kilmarnock Football Club, each of which has been a huge success. Alongside Thomson Hunter Architects, Worksmart Contracts was able to deliver another successful project for the Club.
"Worksmart Contracts are great partners of the Club and we were delighted to kick things off for Phase 2 after the great success of Phase 1. Phase 2 seen us refurbish the Sports bar, Park Suite and install and fit a new Gym facility on site for our playing squads. The renovation allowed the club to re-brand the Park Suite as the 1869 Suite, which is now the perfect, contemporary space for functions, events and matchday hospitality. With a new kitchen fit, this enabled the club to increase operational capabilities and offer more to fans and customers. Client Testimonial
The Club’s sports bar has been re-branded as the Killie Club, a sort of reincarnation of the original Killie Club. We want this to be the perfect space for fans on a matchday and offer this for hire for events that any true Killie fan would be delighted to enjoy. The team at Worksmart operated to the brief given and presented cost effective measures throughout. Their team worked diligently on site and integrated well with our staff to ensure minimum disruption whilst they were on site."
