Worksmart secures the Glazed Partitioning & Fire Screen package at the Willie McIlvanney Campus Kilmarnock East Ayrshire Council with Kier Construction
Worksmart have secured work at the East Ayrshire Learning Campus, or the Willie McIlvanney Campus as it is now formerly named, which takes its name from the renowned local poet & writer. We will primarily be proving Komfort Aluminium Glazed Partitioning Systems and Forza Timber Glazed Fire Screens on this fit-out. This blog confirms the benefits of working with the Worksmart Team on education projects throughout Ayrshire and all over the UK.
Worksmart have a proven track record of large, medium and small sized sophisticated and detailed Glazed Partitioning Projects in all markets and in particular the Education market. From Schools, Colleges and Universities all over Scotland and England in new Build and Refurbishments.
Firstly about the various education projects we are working on in the West and East of Scotland at the moment. We are working on several colleges throughout Ayrshire, including a full refurbishment of the second floor at Ayr’s Dam Park Campus, along with Ayrshire College Kilwinning Campus.
In Glasgow we are in working on Glasgow Kelvin College`s Springburn Campus with various Projects and their Easterhouse Campus with other Projects.
In Edinburgh we are working on projects with Napier University and working on two Projects, and hopefully more to be confirmed.
Having secured a contract at the Willie McIlvanney Campus in Kilmarnock working with Kier Construction Scotland, we will be working closely with Komfort and Forza on this Project. This will include an installation of some Komfort single and double glazed partitioning, as well as Forza fire-rated timber glazed screens.
Working on this project will bring a great number of benefits to Worksmart. Firstly by building a good working relationship between the new Learning Campus and ourselves. We already have a relationship similar to this with Ayrshire College, which has resulted in their students visiting several of our sites and joining us on work placements. This has also given us the opportunity to take employ Dylan Parker as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, who previously joined us on work experience. We will therefore be able to enrol in this school’s work experience programmes, and provide more opportunities for school leavers like myself to join our team and encouraging people into our Construction Industry.
The Willie McIlvanney Campus will also benefit the wider community as it will provide a fantastic new education facility to the young people in Kilmarnock. This project has several specialist contractors working on it under the highly experienced team of Kier Constuction, who are all able to provide skills to assist in ensuring this fit-out produces a high quality education facility. Our scope provides first class Glazed Screens and Glazed Fire Screens with great looking aesthetics, sound attenuations and fire ratings. All detailed to interface with other trades works seamlessly in the ceilings, bulkheads, walls and floors.
Works have started on site and we are looking forward to keeping you all posted!
